I love travelling with my family.  Although it can be chaotic most of the time, having the kids around are simply priceless. I was a little apprehensive initially for this business trip as this will be a first for me to travel internationally. Travelling to Sydney, Australia for 2 weeks seems too long of a time away from my kids.  Still, staying at Swissotel made my entire stay in Australia more memorable.

How to Get There

From Sydney International Airport:
  • Go to the Sydney Airport Domestic or Airport International Train Station.
  • At either of these Airport Stations, purchase a train ticket to St James Station. Train ticket costs AUD 17.80
  • Go to Platform 1.
  • All trains from Platform 1 go to St James Station. Stay on the train until you reach St James Station.
  • Take the Elizabeth Street exit towards Market Street and continue for 10 meters. Turn left onto Market Street and continue for 230 meters. At that point you will arrive at Swissotel Sydney.
Travel time approximately takes 15-20 minutes

From Swissotel to Airport
  • From Swissotel turn left into Market Street and continue for 230 metres. Turn right into Elizabeth Street and continue for 10 metres.
  • At that point you will arrive at St James Station.
  • Purchase a train ticket to Sydney Airport.
  • Go to Platform 2.
  • Trains on Platform 2 go directly to Sydney Airport. Please Check the train TV notification screen to indicate that the train you are catching goes to the Airport.
  • Stay on the train until you reach Sydney Airport Domestic Train Station or Sydney Airport International Train Station.
Travel time approximately takes 15-20 minutes. We took a cab on our way from the hotel to Sydney International Airport and it costs us AUD 48.00

Location

The hotel entrance is heritage listed and as such they are restricted with signage.  Thus, it can be challenging to locate this hotel if it's your first time because of the small signage outside. Still, its location is right at the center of the city.

  1. So what did you do in Sydney for 2 weeks? I've only been to Melbourne and I felt that a week was too short. There were just so many things to see and do!

  10. This is the heart of the city so you'll have easy access to all the city attractions. When I was in Sydney, I live in the suburbs which meant I had to use a car to go to the city.
