Rimmel London, by the name itself, is a British cosmetics brand, now owned by Coty, Inc.  According to their website Eugene Rimmel and his father set up the House of Rimmel in 1834 as a perfumery.  He created the first non-toxic mascara and as the cliche goes, the rest is history.

A lot of people have been raving about Rimmel's Stay Matte long lasting pressed powder.  When I saw that it was on sale in Shopee, I grabbed the opportunity and purchased it right away.  This normally costs around ₱350 on average but I got it for only ₱279.  I got not just one shade but 3!  I got 004 Sandstorm, 005 Silky Beige, and 020 Nude Beige.

Fast Facts and Claims:

  • Up to 5 hours natural shine control
  • Helps minimize pores
  • Dermatologist-tested
  • Net weight 14 grams or 0.49 oz
  • Expiration date is 30 months after opening
  • Ingredients

As a point of reference I have combination to dry skin. I tend to oil up on my t-zone area and sometimes on my cheeks as I do have prominent pores.

Pros:
  • Delivers buildable matte coverage
  • Awesome staying power.  Keeps my face shine free for about 5-6 hours
  • Adds coverage which helps in hiding blemishes and pores.  This can be partly a con though since it tends to get cakey if you keep on adding this to your face.  You need to blot off the excess oil first before using this to touch up.
  • Blends well with my complexion
  • Doesn't feel heavy on the face
  • Sets my make up well
  • A cult favorite so it is easy to acquire and purchase.  I got mine from Shopee and it's also available in BeautyMNL
  • Not powdery or chalky
  • Reasonably priced for its quality
  • Love the embossed logo in the powder itself.  Adds an interesting details.
Cons:
  • Doesn't have a mirror which prevents me from taking this with me when I travel or on the go
  • Doesn't have a sponge.  Although this is a minor issue since I don't always use a sponge when applying powder.
  • Flimsy packaging.  It's too plasticky and very fragile.  The lid is twistable but the print fades easily.
